Dera Ghazi Khan Division is an administrative division of the Punjab province, Pakistan. The reforms of 2000 abolished the third tier of government, but the division system was restored again in 2008. D.G. Khan Division has four districts and 14 tehsils. It covers the extreme southwestern area of Punjab, covering roughly 20% of the province’s total area. It includes districts of D.G. Khan, Rajanpur, Layyah and Muzaffargarh. Dera Ghazi Khan,‎ abbreviated as D.G. Khan, is a town in the Punjab province. It is the 19th largest city in Pakistan with respect to population. It is also the headquarters of Dera Ghazi Khan District and Dera Ghazi Khan Division. Dera Ghazi Khan is situated on the western bank of the Indus River. It was founded at the end of the 15th century and was named after Ghazi Khan Mirrani, son of Haji Khan Mirrani, a powerful Baloch chieftain. Fifteen generations of Mirranis ruled the area. Games abounded near Dera Ghazi Khan in those days, and the fields were green. It was known as “Dera Phoolan Da Sehra” back then due to plenty of gardens and the Kastori Canal supplied by the Indus River. In 1909-10, Mirrani Civilization was inundated by the Indus Civilization. The present town was built 16-18 km from the old town. It was laid out on a grid pattern comprising blocks with wide long roads and streets. Two open spaces were planned in each block for social gatherings.

Fort Munro (Urdu, Punjabi: فورٹ منرو), formerly known as Loilaresir, and Anari Mool in Balochi language, is a hill station which is located at a height of 6,470 feet (1,970 m) above sea level in Dera Ghazi Khan District, Punjab, Pakistan.It was developed by British in the late 19th-century as a summer hill town.Named after commissioner Multan division Colonel (later Major-General) Munro.It attracts many people for short stays during the hot summer. It is around 85 kilometres from Dera Ghazi Khan city, Punjab, Pakistan and about 185 kilometres from Multan in Sulaiman Mountain range. The people of Fort Munro are nomads, especially of the Leghari tribe.Fort Munro’s altitude is 1800 meters. It can be reached either from Loralai Balochistan or from Multan (Punjab). From Punjab, the mountain range starts near Rakhni, which is a border-post between Balochistan and Punjab.

D.G. Khan Zoo is a zoo located in Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab, Pakistan. It is operated by Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries department, Punjab.It was established in 1983-1985 covering an area of 12 acres under the development scheme “Promotion of Wildlife and control of Hunting in D.G. Khan”. Now it has been re-named as “D.G. Khan Zoo”. In 2015, Provincial Minister of Punjab for Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries, Muhammad Asif Malik, announced increased funding so that the zoo could purchase new animals.
